The fantail is a highly elegant breed of fancy pigeon. They are easily identifiable by their fan-shaped tail of around 40 feathers, while ordinary pigeons usually only have 12-14.
These birds are highly sought after show birds , as well as being sought after by pigeon-flyers to help with the training of racing pigeons.
